Alberta Summer Games
The 2026 Alberta Summer Games will take place July 16-19, 2026, in Strathcona County
The Alberta Games have been a proud part of the sport community in Alberta for almost 50 years.
Athletes aged 11-16 will compete in various individual and team sports at the Alberta Summer Games. Participants qualify to attend the games through various zone playoffs and selections held throughout the province.
The host society in Strathcona County has previously hosted the games in 1987 and 2000, and for the 2026 games, it will coordinate with and be supported by Alberta’s Ministry of Tourism and Sport and the Sport, Physical Activity and Recreation Branch.

Tryouts/fees
For the sport of rugby, we are in Zone 8. 12 boys and 12 girls with birth years 2011 and 2012, will be choosen to play 7s, at the tryouts May 31, 2026 11am-1pm at the Grande Prairie Rugby Football Field. There is a $10 try out fee.
Ongoing training will start for U15, (birth years 2011, 2012) starting May 4, 6pm-7:30 pm Mondays and Wednesdays . Fees include $300 for insurance and training May to July.
Our try out date will be May 31, 2026 11AM-1pm at the Grande Prairie Rugby Football Club field. 10115-93 street. $10 try out, $80 Alberta Sport, $35 Rugby Alberta for Jersey.
